NITER and Academy of GarmentsTechBD Sign MoU to Compete in Data Develop Prize (DDP) 2026, Hong Kong
The National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER) and the Academy of Garments Technology Bangladesh (www.GarmentTechBD.org) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the upcoming Data Develop Prize 2026, an esteemed international case competition to be held in Hong Kong.
The MoU signing ceremony took place at the NITER campus, graced by esteemed faculty and representatives from both institutions. This collaboration is aimed at developing a skilled and competitive team that will craft data-driven solutions for challenges in the apparel and textile supply chain sector.
Prof. Dr. Ashequl Alam Rana, Director of NITER, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that it will provide students with the opportunity to apply data science in real-world textile industry contexts while gaining valuable international exposure.
Joining virtually via Zoom, Dr. Henry Soo, Strategic Partner of GarmentTechBD, emphasized the importance of nurturing young Bangladeshi talent who can represent the country on global platforms through innovation and technical excellence.
In-person attendees included Miss Tamzeda Mostofa, Marketing Leader at GarmentTechBD, along with other team members, who actively participated in the event.
The Data Develop Prize (DDP) is recognized for bringing together global minds to solve industry problems through innovative data applications. This MoU signifies a strategic step forward in empowering Bangladeshi institutions to lead in the era of smart textiles and digital transformation in apparel technology.
